About Weaver and Related Lines
Welcome to this website which represents my ongoing research into various New Orleans lines of my father`s family.I have tried to trace some of the collateral lines of the family where the information is available. The information posted here comes from a variety of sources including family records, tombstones, newspapers, the internet, Sacramental Records of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, birth and death certificates, military records, and legal sources. For the Fernandez and Helliot lines, the Sacramental Records appear to be a particularly valuable source as they were probably written by Rufino Fernandez who was a cantor and keeper of records for St. Louis Cathedral.I have taken the liberty of translating the first and middle names of some persons found in the Sacramental Records where the national origin of the family is not Spanish. Thus, Guillermo becomes `Guillaume`, Juan becomes `Jean`,etc. I am also indebted to Wesley Weaver for his reseach on the Weaver line and have borrowed heavily from his research on the family with my own additions here.I also wish to thank Peg Gueringer Blask fo her research on the descendants of Louis Gueringer who established a large branch of the family in Mobile. We have some early family group photographs from the turn of the century which I will attempt to upload when I become more proficient in technology.I welcome emails from those researching the same lines as I have acquired more information than I can post here.
